The Ballad of Ambush

Ambush was born out of a love of music by musicians who loved the same kinds of music - southern rock, classic 70s rock, blues, and R&B - and we used that love as a launching point for what has become Ambush.

Founded in 2023 in Myrtle Beach, SC, Ambush continues to evolve and grow.

Whether its that southern rock glory of Allman Bros., Lynyrd Skynyrd, and Molly Hatchet, to the 80s anthems of Journey, Styx, and Queen, all mixed in with great blues, country and party rock songs, the extraordinary breadth of influences across the musical gambit shows in all that Ambush does live.

Currently, Ambush is a 4-piece band, consisting of:

Steph Doyle - Bass/Backing Vocals

Ron Brinn - Drums

Kevin Keith - Lead Vocals

Scott hails from Dayton, Ohio. He started piano lessons at the age of 4. Started playing guitar at 8. He formed his first band in the 7th grade, named "Battle Axe" and never looked back.

A bassist since the late 70's, Steph honed his style playing through the classic rock and early metal scenes in Northern Utah, Texas, Maryland and now, South Carolina. Today he is the newest member addition to the Ambush band, known for his expressive, high-energy playing and passion on stage. Offstage, he is also a creative force as a fine artist, graphic and visual identity designer, and does luthier work.

Ron brings over 50 years worth of experience on the drums, playing top 40, jazz, Latin, and Rock and Roll. He brings his special talents to the rock band Ambush, in which he is a founding member.

Kevin also comes from Dayton, OH, and has been singing off and on since he was 16. He was the original lead singer for the band Perfect Tommy in the early nineties here in MB. His heroes are Freddie Mercury, Steve Perry, Geoff Tate (Queensryche) and Chris Cornell (Soundgarden) just to name but a few. He is also a former wine expert and writer, a published poet, dog dad, and aficionado of the 1975 Cincinnati Reds.
